Leviathan DLC – This DLC will have some major story revelations for Mass Effect 3 and the trilogy at large.Priority: The Citadel III & Catch up on any lingering Side Quests like the Elcor Extraction Quest.Rannoch: Admiral Koris – This needs to be completed before Priority Rannoch so get this out of the way.Return to the Citadel – Dedicate some time to the Citadel side quests before jumping back into the fray.Again, it’s good to take advantage of the downtime as these have great callbacks and may even net you some war assets. So, at this point, you can complete: Volus Ambassador, N7: Cerberus Abductions, Ex-Cerberus Scientists, N7: Cerberus Fighter Base, and N7: Cerberus Scientists. Side Quests – New Quests and character cameos make an appearance at this time.Priority Tuchanka – Embark in one of the trilogies most pivotal missions. For reasons I won’t explain but will become apparent when you play. Now is a good time to do this as pretty soon, you will hit a point where some things you could previously do on the Citadel will lock. Return to the Citadel – Complete side quests and talk to former crew members. After you complete the Turian Platoon quest, head straight back to Tuchanka and knock this one out. Tuchanka: Bomb – This is one of those time-sensitive missions.Return to the Citadel– Work on any side quests which interest you.Return to the Citadel– Complete the Hanar Diplomat quest.Take advantage of the few systems on hand at this point as more will appear later on. Take some time to gather War Assets through scanning as many planets as possible at this point.Take advantage of this by talking to everyone, there are some great surprises if you dig around. Onboard the Citadel will give you some time to catch up with some familiar faces. Of course, you will have plenty to worry about with character interactions, specifically on Mars. These three missions follow one after another, so obviously you won’t have anything to worry about with time sensitivity. Just like Lair of the Shadow Broker or Arrival, these DLC make sense to avoid doing right at the beginning.

Just like the second iteration, Mass Effect 3 gives you the DLC pretty early on into the game. New side quests will be available once you finish certain main missions, so this is a good rule in order to avoid being overwhelmed with quests. Take on those side stuff before hopping into the next main mission. Get into a habit of talking to people, exploring the citadel, and scanning planets in between priority missions. Even if you have incomplete side quests piling up in your journal, they are still susceptible to being locked if you progress the main story too far. Priority Missions never expire, so you can handle these a bit leisurely. Completing these will advance the main story forward, which could lock you from time-sensitive side missions. Perhaps the most important difference between Mass Effect 3 and its predecessors is ‘Priority Missions.’ Don’t let the name fool you as these are really only main story missions. Which, further complicates matters but we will get you squared away! The Legendary Edition includes all of Mass Effect 3‘s DLC, which could get locked if not tackled in the right order. In this guide, we will walk you through the best mission order in Mass Effect 3. More often than not, these result in altering the fate of the war effort and your favorite characters. Meaning, if you don’t complete said missions within a certain window, you will face repercussions. Because of this added pressure, Mass Effect 3 may feel restrictive compared to Mass Effect 1 and 2. This is due to a number of missions needing to be prioritized over others. Now that we have arrived at this moment, the stakes have never been higher.

Everything in the trilogy has led to a galactic scale confrontation with the Reapers. The sense of urgency found in Mass Effect 3 can add pressure in knowing the order of each mission.
